Arrested in Arizona

Owens & Perkins, P.C.

If you happen to get arrested in Arizona, stay calm and do not resist. Do not touch, threaten or argue with the police officer. Do not try to run away. Keep your hands where the police can see them. Resisting arrest is a crime in itself, even if you are innocent of the crime for which you are being arrested. An officer can use force to overcome resistance or prevent escape.

Also remember:

  • You have the right to remain silent;

  • You have the right to speak privately by phone with your attorney; and

  • You also have the right to have your attorney present prior to any questioning by the police.
