As the year comes to an end, we often find ourselves looking back over what we accomplished and what we intended to accomplish but didn’t. You promised yourself that this would be the year you __________, and you resolved to make it happen. It’s now time for a reality check. How are you doing on _________? Have you accomplished it? Are you at least on your way to accomplishing it? Many people abandon goals because they’re just too big. There’s a reason you want to accomplish these things, so respect that desire and do something about it.
Here are a few tips to get you on the right track:
- Change your game plan. One of the best ways to knock out a goal is to put it on your calendar. If you imposed a date on yourself that you’re unable to achieve, figure out what can be done before the year’s end and calendar the rest in the new year.
- Be realistic. Don’t set yourself up for failure by letting your dreams get bigger than your abilities. That’s not to say don’t set hard goals for yourself, just make sure they’re attainable.
- Commit to yourself. There’s only one person who can make it happen- you. Don’t let negative thoughts become obstacles; where others might see obstacles, look for opportunities.
