Know what to say when you get pulled over

Rachel Fitch

When you get pulled over it is always nerve-racking even when you are not driving under the influence. Being prepared and knowing what to ask and say to law enforcement officials when you have been pulled over can prevent you from potentially incriminating yourself and hurting your case. Examples include:

  • “Why do you want me to get out of the car?”
  • “What am I being arrested for?”
  • “I will cooperate taking the intoxilyzer and blood test.”
  • Specifically, state your Fifth Amendment right to NOT speak with law enforcement officials until an attorney is present.
